Student Of The Year or SOTY is a story of three friends who study in Dehradun’s Saint Teresa High School, a premier-uber sleek-English school, preppy yet very trendy, which is a small world in itself. Those playing the lead characters are the kids of Bollywood’s who’s who, with filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and Soni Razdan’s daughter and David Dhawan’s son, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan, making their debuts in the film. Also debuting in this film is Boman Irani’s son Kayoze Irani and model Siddharth Malhotra.
So, what’s the trailer about? Best buddies turn contenders when the student of the year competition is declared. And amid top class athletic gear, extravagant sets and trendy youth – who look like an army of mannequins that stepped out of a fashion catalogue- the two leading men fight it out to be the student of the year.
Student of the Year releases in theatres on 19 October.
